This is a step-by-step guide explaining how to boot into recovery mode on an Android device. The exact procedure varies with chipset and device so this tutorial will try to cover as many techniques as possible. Hopefully one will apply to your device.

How to boot into Recovery Mode on an MTK phone (e.g Tecno, Gionee, Infinix, Opsson, Innjoo etc) 

  •  Switch off the phone.
  •  Press volume increase/up and don’t release.
  •  Press power button and keep holding down both buttons.  
  •  Don’t  release  till  you  enter  recovery  mode  which  will  either show clockworkmod or an Android robot lying on his back .
  • If you get stuck on android lying at its back, then press the power button once to proceed into recovery mode. Some models require you to hold the power button and tap the volume increase button twice
  • For newer MTK devices, you'll need to hold power button then press vol up button immediately and release both buttons together to proceed into recovery mode

  • Press and keep holding Volume increase button 
  •  Press and keep holding Menu (you should now be holding 2 buttons)
  • Press and keep holding Power button (you should now be holding 3 buttons)
  • Keep holding all till the phone enters recovery mode

How to boot into Recovery Mode on a Nokia phone

  •  Switch off the phone
  •  Press volume increase/up and don’t release.
  •  Press power button and keep holding down both buttons.  
  •  Don’t  release  till  you  enter  recovery  mode  which  will  either  show

How to boot into Recovery Mode on a Samsung phone

  •  Switch off the phone 
  •  Press volume up and don’t release (if your device has the home button then hold it along with volume up)
  •  Press power button and keep holding down all buttons
  •  Don’t release until you enter recovery mode which will either show clockworkmod or an Android robot lying on his back

How to boot into Recovery Mode on a HTC phone

  • Disable the Fastboot option on your HTC by going to Settings> Battery> Uncheck the Fastboot key at the bottom of the screen
  • Turn off your device and wait a couple of seconds until the process is complete
  • Press the Volume Down key then press the Power button and keep holding both
  • Release the Power button but still keep on holding the Volume Down button
  • Your device will be boot into the Bootloader mode
  • There will be multiple choices to choose from
  • Press the Volume Down button to navigate to Recovery
  • Press the Power Button to select
  • The HTC phone will boot into Recovery mode

-Remove the battery and re-insert it.
-Press and hold volume up and down buttons together (don't release the buttons).
-Press power button and keep holding down all three buttons
