[ROM][Android 15] RongYue E5 - FlymeOS 12_01 Debloated Edition (4GB RAM-modded units only)
WARNING: This ROM is ONLY for RongYue E5 units whose RAM has been hardware-modded to 4GB.
- Do NOT flash it on a stock 2GB RAM unit.
- Reason: the Android 15 base has a hard memory requirement. It needs at least 3GB+ of RAM to boot properly and run with basic smoothness. The stock unit has only 2GB, and flashing it will cause a failed boot, extreme lag, or constantly crashing processes.
- This package is made specifically for tinkerers' units that have been hardware-upgraded to 4GB RAM. If your unit is unmodified, please do not try it!
Core updates & optimizations
- Base upgrade: ported and adapted from Android 15 (exclusive to 4GB RAM hardware-modded units).
- GPU driver upgrade: jumped from the stock r41p0 to r49p1 for smoother graphics rendering.
- Multimedia boost: updated video decoding driver, greatly easing the severe stutter and dropped frames when playing 1080P video in Bilibili, short-video apps, etc.
- Built-in root: the KernelSU-Next kernel is already integrated. No need to hunt for a Boot image to patch - root can be activated right after the first boot.
- Heavily debloated: removed Quick Apps, system update, the built-in app store, background telemetry/reporting services, on-device AI and other RAM-hungry processes and services, for a clean and quiet background.
- Hardware-level trimming: removed services for hardware the E5 does not have (such as NFC and fingerprint recognition code), reducing pointless background errors and battery drain.
- Core experience kept: Meizu's signature Small Window mode, full-screen gestures and other handy features are fully retained. Try it yourself for more details.
Toolkit included (ready to use after first boot)
- Root activation: after booting, install 01.KernelSU_Next_Manager.apk from the package to get root.
- Essential modules: the meta-overlayfs metamodule, Zygisk-Next and the LSPosed framework are included for out-of-the-box use.
- Keypad-phone plugin: 05 is a RongYue E5 specific key/mouse tool with third-party input method support (requires Root authorization). It solves the physical keyboard operation and typing pain points after porting the system. Menu key = Recents, Back key ends the foreground app, Star key = flashlight. Works on Android 13-15.
Known bugs / things to know (do not flash if you mind these)
- Camera: the stock camera driver is incompatible and cannot take photos. OpenCamera has been put into the system as a replacement.
- Face recognition: missing (the hardware type is hard-coded in the lower layer and cannot be called).
- Dialer: touch dialing only.
Before you flash
Flash at your own risk. I am not responsible for bricked devices!
This package flashes in BROM mode. Please disable your antivirus software and Windows Defender first.
How to enter BROM mode
- Fully power off the phone (or pull and reinsert the battery).
- Press and hold the BACK key on the phone and do not release it.
- While still holding the BACK key, plug the USB cable into the PC. Once the PC detects the device you can release the key. The phone is now in BROM flashing mode.
Step 1 - Back up first (mandatory)
Flyme is huge: the stock size is already close to 6GB (this package automatically expands the Super partition to 7.5GB). Before flashing any new system, put the phone in BROM mode and run 01.[BROM_Mode]One-Click_Backup.bat to back up the stock low-level images and partitions to your PC in full (saved in the "BF" folder). As long as you have a backup, you can always recover from a failed flash with 03.[BROM_Mode]Restore_Backup_Wipe_Data.bat.
Flashing procedure
- Extract the package and install the Flash_Driver_SPD_Driver_R4.20.4201 driver on your PC first.
- Back up: power off the phone, hold the BACK key and plug in the cable to enter BROM mode, run 01.[BROM_Mode]One-Click_Backup.bat and wait until all partitions are backed up.
- Flash the system: unplug the cable, power off the phone again, hold the BACK key and plug in the cable to enter BROM mode, then run 02.[BROM_Mode]Flash_FlymeOS_Auto_Expand_Super_7.5GB_Wipe_Data.bat. The script automatically expands the partition and flashes the ROM; just wait for the black command window to finish all steps.
- Units that have previously been flashed normally with a third-party ROM and already have a decrypted Data partition need no manual intervention at all - the phone reboots into the system by itself.
Cannot connect? Power off (or pull the battery), then hold the BACK key while powering on.
Stuck on the boot animation?
If the phone hangs on the boot animation for a long time, Data was not fully wiped and you need to wipe it manually. TWRP is integrated in this package.
- Remove the battery to fully cut power, then reinsert it.
- Press and hold Volume+, then press and hold the Power key.
- After a few seconds, when the screen lights up and the logo appears, release all keys. The phone enters TWRP automatically.
- In TWRP, run Wipe / Format Data, then reboot. The system will then boot normally.

- One-line summary: Android 15 debloated to the absolute limit—redundant services stripped, lite GMS built-in (disabled by default), and fits the stock Super partition without expansion! Stock 2GB units can try flashing it (stability not guaranteed), but 2GB+ (RAM-modded) is still strongly recommended.
- Hardware decoding fix: Resolved hardware video decoding failures caused by driver incompatibilities between the GPU and video decoder.
