This guide will explain how to flash a Mediatek (MTK) Android device's firmware using Infinity Chinese Miracle II (CM2) MTK whether in bin or scatter format. For recent Mediatek devices, CM2 MT2 is the tool to use.

Important Notice
  • Infinity CM2 ideally requires a hardware box to work. Only installing the setup and running it will fail
  • If you are using a loader version then you are entirely responsible for ignoring any virus warning you get
  • Avoid interrupting the flashing process as this could cause the device to go dead
  • Only flash firmware for your device model (and build number if you can find it) as doing otherwise could brick the device
  • Should you decide to flash firmware for another build number, try to backup your firmware so you have something to revert to should the firmware you flash brick your device
  • Ensure to load a DA file for a Secure Boot device if CM2 doesn't have one for it

Quote:In this video tutorial, I'll be explaining how to flash a Mediatek Android phone using Chinese Miracle 2 MTK module. You need to have the module which you're going to be installing and the firmware which you're going to be flashing. I'll be flashing in scatter format as you can see. You should also have your VCOM drivers installed, we have a guide on how to do that so check that out on our Forum.

Now, once you've done that, install this CM2 MTK module. You should have the hardware dongle on standby. If possible, you can have it connected to your PC while you're installing the module ok? So you don't forget to connect when you launch. [installing both MTK modules] Now, make sure your dongle is connected to the PC's USB port then launch the Infinity CM2 MTK shortcut. It takes a while to come up so just be patient alright?

Now, select your phone's chipset under Settings > CPU. We have a guide on how to know your phone's chipset. Now, once you do that, you go to the flash tab. Depending on what you want to flash (bin or scatter format), you tick the appropriate radio. I want to flash in scatter format so I'm going to be ticking scatter. Now, under Settings, you have some boxes. I'm going to untick everything. You can decide to tick any. Once you're done with that, you click on Scatter and then a Window should popup.

Now, in this Window that pops up, navigate to the location where you have your firmware / rom which you want to flash then select the scatter file and click on Open. Now, the firmware / rom should get detected. Now, click on Flash and you should have ====Wait for phone.. Power off the phone. still with battery inside then connect it to the PC via the USB cord and you should have detection. Flashing should begin. Its very important you don't interrupt flashing ok? Alright! Great! So flashing is done.

That's basically how to flash a Mediatek Android phone using Chinese Miracle 2 or CM2 MTK module.
