If you get a black, white, yellow, blinking or multicolored screen after flashing a firmware then this guide will explain what to do. In this scenario, the device will be able to boot up (sound, lights even storage detection on PC) but won't display properly. Both Mediatek & Spreadtrum devices encounter this issue.
What causes this display issue?
When it comes to firmware and flashing, you need to be aware of variants (Build Number). Flashing another variant's firmware to your device might be successful but you could run into errors that signal incompatibility; display issues being one.
How to fix colored screen / display after flashing wrong firmware
When faced with white, black or multicolored screen after flashing, here's what you do
For Mediatek (MTK) Android phone users who have black, white or multicolored screens on boot (example is Tecno H5 showing a yellow screen on boot) after flashing a stock or custom ROM, what you need to do is flash a compatible uboot.bin or lk.bin (and sometimes preloader.bin) . You could flash the entire stock ROM for your exact phone type if you have it just to fix any additional errors that the previous files might have caused. For SPD phone users who have black, white or multicolored screens on boot after flashing a stock or custom ROM, what you need to do is flash a compatible PAC file / firmware for your build using Research Download tool . Some phones have multiple variants so this is likely the case for you.

Important Notice
- Its important you don't mix up a display issue (after flashing) with damaged screen or a totally dead phone. For a display issue, the phone will show a sign of life (like make a sound / receive phone calls) but it just won't display properly
- Before you go trying to fix this issue, ensure you have a copy of the firmware currently running on your device, backup if need be
- Sometimes, flashing another firmware might fix the display issue but result in another issue. In such a case, consider combining / mixing files from the various roms till you get a working combination
