Automatic updates in Windows 10 could drain your data really quickly. Microsoft (unfortunately) doesn’t make it easy to opt out of this feature. While I like extra security, I should at least be able to choose when to download such updates in order to manage data costs.
We’d discussed some methods to disable auto updates in Windows 10 but they’re not permanent and can easily be rolled back by Windows. One good approach is to use Wu10Man.
How to disable auto software updates in Window 10 with Wu10Man
- Download the latest version at https://github.com/WereDev/Wu10Man/releases
- Install on your Windows PC then launch
- Click Disable All Services
Once you’re set to download and install new updates, simply launch the tool and click Enable All Services
