This guide will explain how to use the combination of MTK client and SP flash tool for tasks like backup/dump, flash, FRP bypass etc. This guide assumes you're already familiar with setting up and using both MTK client and SP flash tool. If you aren't familiar with them then here are some resources to get you up to speed.

Why use the combination instead of just MTK Client

This comes in handy for devices with Secure Boot. If you don't have the DA file then MTK client is perfect for most tasks but you might find the speed a bit slow when backing up or flashing large partitions like userdata and super/system. This is where SP Flash tool comes in. You use MTK client to disable the security and SP flash tool to flash.

Using MTK client + SP Flash tool to backup and flash

Run the command below

Code:

python mtk payload

or

Code:

py -3 mtk payload
Get the device into BROM mode then connect to PC
Wait till the task is completed.
If payload gets successfully sent then you can go ahead with SP flash tool with the device still connected

Important Notice

If you encounter any error then refer to our list of MTKClient errors and their fixes
You'll have to repeat the command and reconnect the device each time you want to do a flash or backup
If you encounter "error: Microsoft Visual C++ 14.0 or greater is required" then follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-47409.html

That is in command prompt. You need to navigate to the mtkclient folder in command prompt first
