How to root Tecno K7 Spark

• Install VCOM drivers on your PC using https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
  
• Download Magisk v14 zip @ https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachm...1504713887
  
• Copy the Magisk zip to the phone's SD Card
  
• Download Philz for Tecno K7 Spark ported by Team Hovatek at [ Login / Register to download free]
  
• TWRP for Tecno K7 Spark ported by Team Hovatek at [ Login / Register to download free]
  
• Switch off the phone (still with battery inside)
  
• Flash the Philz recovery.img to the phone using SP Flash tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html
  
• Boot the phone into recovery mode using Volume up button + Power button
  
• In Philz recovery, you use the Volume buttons to navigate and Power button to select
  
• Select Install Zip
  
• Navigate to the location of the Magisk.zip on the SD Card and select it
  
• Wait till flashing is complete
  
• If you are prompted to fix root, select No
  
• Reboot the phone normally
  
• Once the phone boots to Home Screen, download and install Magisk Manager apk @ https://github.com/topjohnwu/MagiskManag...v5.0.4.apk
  
• Launch Magisk Manager and Root checker to verify root.

The root thread worked fine on my K7, but i have a problem with folder mount app, it keeps telling me i'm using an unsupported superuser app, can't i install supersu through revovery rather than magisk or is there a complication?

You could remove Magisk and use Supersu if you want

How can i flash the img file? theres only option for .bin file.
