I've downloaded SuperSU on my phone but if i try to open it says can't open file

supersu is in zip format, your native file manager can't open such file, use an advanced file manager from playstore such as Xplore to open zip files

The guide didn't ask you to open supersu on your phone. Its to be flashed in TWRP recovery mode

setup ADB & Fastboot using the method @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-588.html then in C:\adb press shift key + right-click then click on Open Command Window Here.

How do I enter twrp on itel 1480 and second when I type fastboot flash recovery I see -p product.... Can you please screen shot what I should see

If flashing custom recovery is successful then follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-2167.html to boot to custom recovery mode.

the command you typed here isn't correct, check page 1 for the correct command to flash recovery
if flashing is successful, you'll get the message OKAY [ 0.xxxx]
to boot to twrp, see the link in @innagee's reply
