If you encounter [1]Warning, error create backup directory, exe have admin rights?! while trying to backup your Mediatek Android phone's firmware using NCK Pro Box, then you have run into a permission error.
What is the cause of this error?
The root of the problem is that NCK Pro box has encountered a problem finding or writing to C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Android_MTK
How to fix NCKPro [1]Warning, error create backup directory, exe have admin rights?!
Follow the steps below to resolve this issue
- Navigate to C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\Android_MTK
- You should find a file named Android_MTK.ini , open it using Notepad
- Its contents should look something like
Code:[MAIN]
backup_path=C:\Users\Hovatek\Documents\Android_MTK
selected_model=MT6580_EMMC
selected_brand=0-By CPU - Ensure the backup_path actually exists. In my case, it was Users\a\.... (which didn't exist) so I had to change it to Users\Hovatek\.... (which was the correct path)
- Save your change(s) then re-run NckBox AndroidMTK.exe as Administrator
- If the error persists then take ownership of the Android_MTK folder using the guide at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15585.html

Important Notice
- NCK Pro box ideally requires a hardware box in order to work so merely installing and running the setup won't work
- Should you prefer to use a loader version (that doesn't require a hardware box) then you might run into antivirus warnings and are responsible for allowing such a program to run on your PC
- Make it a habit to run NCK Pro box modules as admin to avoid some write permission type errors
