Launch device manager > Power off the phone > connect to PC
Does device manager refresh or the PC make a connection sound?
BTW, hope you're not holding any button when connecting to PC for flashing

once you connect / disconnect any device to a PC, you should hear a notification sound
BTW if you device is charging when connected for flashing, it means drivers havent been properly installed
uninstall all vcom and mtk drivers using usb deview @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7660.html
then reinstall vcom preloader @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
