(25-02-2019, 11:28 AM)comasutra Thanks,

but i'm not sure, because in this thread https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15453.html i can read
"* Backup your important stuff as unlocking the Bootloader wipes your data"
So next question - does unlocking the bootloader wipe the userdata partition?
Best regards

i see where you're coming from now
unlocking bootloader via fastboot will wiped usedata
to avoid that, you can patch stock boot using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html then flash patched boot using scatter file for your model @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19288.html and SPflash tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html

Customer decided for chip-off-recovery from emmc instead of playing with data.

Thanks nevertheless! Very useful information for the future.

Regards!

Please the reason I want to root is to be able to recover some lost files using a recovery wizard, unlocking my bootloader or OEM unlock, will i still have access to these files, since I'm told that unlocking bootloader wipes off the phones userdata. Thank you
