#1

To successfully unlock the Bootloader of the Tecno Phantom 6 (A6):
  1. Backup your important stuff as unlocking the Bootloader wipes your data
  2. Enable USB Debugging on the Tecno Phantom 6 (A6)
  3. Enable OEM Unlocking under Settings > Developer options
  4. Setup ADB and Fastboot on the PC
  5. Connect the phone to the PC via USB cord (while On)
  6. Launch ADB
  7. In ADB, run the following command (press Enter after the command)

    Code:
    adb devices

  8. ADB should detect the device. If ADB detects other devices but not the Tecno Phantom 6 (A6) then it must be an ADB clash, see how to fix ADB clash in Windows
  9. Once the device gets detected, boot it into Fastboot by running the following command (press Enter after the command)

    Code:
    adb reboot-bootloader

  10. The phone should now enter Fastboot (black screen with only fastboot written at the top or bottom)
  11. In Fastboot, run the following command (press Enter after the command)

    Code:
    fastboot oem unlock

  12. You should get a prompt on the device asking you to confirm Bootloader unlock, press the volume up button for Yes
  13. You should now get a success message
  14. Reboot the device by running the command below (press Enter after the command)

    Code:
    fastboot reboot
If you wish to root your Tecno Phantom 6 after unlocking the Bootloader then follow the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-15455.html

Please the reason I want to root is to be able to recover some lost files using a recovery wizard, unlocking my bootloader or OEM unlock, will i still have access to these files, since I'm told that unlocking bootloader wipes off the phones userdata. Thank you

you can try
patching stock boot using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html then flash patched boot using scatter file for your model @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-19288.html and SPflash tool @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-159.html
if you still have any problem then create a new thread for your device issue
see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-514.html for how to create a thread
