1. We could also consider rebooting to EDL from fastboot if this model supports that

1. I tried "fastboot reboot edl" and it returned "fastboot: usage: unknown reboot target edl". Is there a different command?
2. I currently just pop the battery out and then put it back in after a second to turn it off.

Pop out and reinsert the battery > hold both volume buttons > connect to PC
Lets see if it enters EDL

Lets see if it enters EDL

I've tried all the button combos, nothing makes it boot to EDL. The two volume buttons don't do anything without the power button involved too, and if I hit power + volume up the screen goes bright white, and the computer doesn't detect it with adb devices OR fastboot devices. The times I've tried to get it into recovery mode, I just have the dead android with "no connection", and I've tried all the button combos to get past that, too. The white screen is the only different thing that happens.

In looking up how I might find the test points for this phone, I found a video on factory resetting this exact model, which contained the revelation that to get past the "no connection" android, I needed to hold the power button and TAP volume up once, rather than hold it like I've tried before. So I got into recovery mode, but I wiped the data and the cache and it's still only booting into fastboot. If I hold the two volume buttons and then plug it into the computer, I get the white screen, so maybe that's EDL mode as the phone stands right now? QPST is detecting it now, anyway, as Q/QCP-x (Sahara Download), so I guess I'm going to try flashing the stock ROM again and see how it goes.

I couldn't get it to reflash, there were too many underlying issues. It goes completely against my nature, but I've given up on this, there's too much technical fiddly stuff involved that I'm totally unfamiliar with. I finally caved and spent $70 on the same model phone my mom currently has from Lifeline, because I like how it works. We don't really have the money to spare, but it'll be useful to finally have a phone that can work as a phone (the last time this was true was my blue Nokia brick in 2008).

I greatly appreciate all the help provided to me in this thread, even though I was frustrated with how long it was taking for responses to come through. That's just your business model and I respect that. Thank you.
