if your device is android 9, then you need to unlock bootloader, remove recovery-from-boot.p file from within system partition, create a custom vbmeta image, sign the ported twrp image then flash using fastboot. all these have their guides on this forum

yes, it's supported already
if it's not, you can edit ramdisk/etc/*fstab then add the to the end of flags for /system
