(23-11-2019, 12:56 PM)ahhl can i modify boot.img with magisk and use qfill to flash boot.img?

yes you can, so far your device allows flashing modified files via tools and you have other QFIL required files (not boot.img alone).
Why not simply use fastboot?

So if I load prog_emmc_firehose_****.mbn from my phones firmware folder then open Partition Manager in QFIL and right click on boot.img and click on "manage partition" then "load data" and then select Magisk patched boot.img(from different folder) and then close Partition Manager windows, will QFIL then replace stock boot.img with patched .img(renamed " boot.img). Edit I know I can unlock bootloader and use fastboot but for now prefer not to

With Qualcomm, its safer to have an unlocked bootloader if you can unlock it....you never know
