Hovatek’s TWRP Builder

You would recall that we announced Auto TWRP recovery Porter v2.0 a while back. While we did build the tool to a large extent, we encountered some challenges, especially with higher Android versions. This caused us to change course and focus on building from source instead of porting.

Introducing Our Online TWRP Builder

To make the process seamless and easily maintainable, we opted to develop an online tool which builds TWRP custom recovery for your Android device from source in three easy steps:

  1. You upload your boot.img or recovery.img
  2. The device tree for your device gets prepared and queued for building (You can track the progress)
  3. Your TWRP gets built from source and a download link is provided once built.

Supported devices and Android versions

Our tool can build TWRP for Android 5.1 to 14 devices although builds for 5.1 – 9 are currently disabled. If your device falls between 5.1 and 9 then what you can do for now is to try our Auto TWRP porters or request a manual TWRP build.

Our tool is still in beta so we welcome testers and feedback to help us improve it.

How to use the tool

The tool is available at https://www.hovatek.com/twrpbuilder/ . Below is a video tutorial:

  1. Bjr.

Also, is there any way we can get a thread with the steps of operation written in detailed text? The video is difficult for me to follow cause no one is narrating the step by step process, and I follow better with details of explanation. I’m still going to try and figure it out.

Neat, an up to date porter. I will give it a test. Do you guys happen to have a device list of successful test devices? I’m going to attempt to use it on my OnePlus Nord N200 5G w/ Root & LineageOS 20. I hope this is successful. I will report my findings.
