Follow the steps below to install vmware tools on macOS guest
From the macOS desktop, click Player (top left) > Removable Devices > CD/DVD (SATA) > Settings
Tick "Use iso image file" and then click Browse
Navigate to the folder where the vmware tools zip was extracted and choose the darwin iso file
Click OK
From the macOS desktop, click Player (top left) > Removable Devices > CD/DVD (SATA) > Connect
VMware Tools should appear on your desktop, launch it
Click "Install VMware Tools"
Follow the installation wizard
You should get a success message once done, click Restart
Important Notice
If you get an error like "* cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified" then click Finder > Security & Privacy > Tick "App store and identified developers" under General then click allow or approve if it appears below
