How do i patch the boot.img & flash it using mtkclient gui?

Since I think it requires the tv to be in brom mode right?

Do you know how to root my tv? Magisk and fastboot method doesnt work.

(23-03-2023, 02:40 PM)chris89 Well with the help of someone on xda developers I have the bootloader unlocked now via adb reboot bootloader and installing a special driver and i had it plugged in the wrong usb port is why it wasnt getting detected.

Now I need help rooting it, I have the boot.img... i tried magisk with no luck.

fastboot flash boot_b boot.img

It succeeds but I need help because it never roots my tv bro.

Thanks

Did you confirm that B is your active slot and not A?
Does the TV have fastbootD (accessible via fastboot reboot fastboot command)?

You should be flashing in fastbootD then, not fastboot

I tried in fastbootd same result, no root on boot. So i realized that it boots and runs on boot_a, not boot_b because i flashed a corrupt boot_b boot.img and it still booted without issue. So i realized there may be 2 boot.img, one in boot_a, and one in boot_b. Which i need the one from boot_a to patch & flash.

How do I pull the boot_a boot.img from my current firmware?

Or, How do i setup Binwalk for windows to extract the .pkg firmware image so I can get the boot.img that way?

I'm stuck on installing Binwalk since i installed Python 2.7 & just need to manually install "pip".

Can you walk me through how to setup Binwalk completely step by step?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with Binwalk
Launch device manager and connect the TV while powered off. What does the TV show up as (usually briefly)

I'll test that once I get my pc. Otherwise can you try to extract the .pkg with Binwalk for python windows or linux?

I cannot find the driver I used to get it unlock the bootload on this 4k smart tv. The driver name is ~Android Bootloader Interface (SmartTV 4K)~. May you help me find it so I may try this whole rooting procedure again on my TV? Thanks
