This guide will explain how to use LG firmware extract tool to extract kdz / tot firmwares

Follow the steps below to extract LG kdz / tot firmware using LG firmware extract tool

  1. Launch LG firmware extract tool

  2. Click Open beside KDZ file

  3. In the window that pops up, select the kdz file you wish to extract then click Open > it should load it's contents

  4. Tick the checkbox beside File Name

  5. You can change the working folder if you wish to extract to a specific location. Click on Working folder ...

  6. In the window that pops up, select the folder you wish to extract to then click OK

  7. Click Extract KDZ and wait while the tool extracts the kdz file

  8. Once complete, you should see Progress Done in the log area

  9. Click Open beside DZ file

  10. In the window that pops up, select the dz file you extracted earlier then click Open > it should load it's contents

  11. Tick the checkbox beside the second File Name

  12. You can change working folder to an empty folder (so you don't get confused with the contents of kdz & dz)

  13. Click Extract DZ and wait while the tool extracts the dz file

  14. Once successful, you should get the message Progress extractDZFlle Done !! in the log area

  15. You'll find the contents of the firmware in the folder you selected in LG firmware extract tool

Important Notice
  • This tool doesn't require installation or internet access, simply extract and launch
  • This doesn't work on all DZ firmware especially some from mediatek chipset, for such dz files, you could try this dz extract tool

now before we begin i'm going to create two empty folders, one will be called kdz extract, the second one will be dz extract
now I'll launch the tool. In the first box click open, select the kdz firmware, it'll list it's content down here tick the checkbox beside file name change the working folder so that it'll extract to an empty folder I'm going to extract to kdz extract, then we'll click extract kdz once it's done, you'll see progress done now, select the dz file that just got extracted

it'll load it's contents in the next box click the check box beside file name you can change the working folder, this time around i want to extract to dz extract now I'll click extract dz so this might actually take a while depending on the file size, the size of this kdz file is about 4 gig or so once complete, you'll get the message progress extract dz file done so this is how you extract an lg kdz firmware using lg firmware extract tool thanks for watching guys, ensure to like, subscribe and share the video

be sure to try a kdz firmware from an older software version, e.g if your device has android 9 / 10 then be sure to try one from both versions
if not then you'll have to be on the lookout for new kdz extractors that might work

When I extract the dz file using dz extractor tool I only get normal file not img file.
How i can turn it into img?
