Ok so i was trying to root my phone (Oppo A31) and i have a fastboot problem and then i found this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dYn31wdw-s
so i tried the steps in the video and then this message shows up
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems."

connect the phone while in fastboot mode, launch device manager and check, what does the device get detected as? attach a screenshot of device manager if possible
one more thing, what's the output of the command "adb --version" or "fastboot --version" ?

are you sure the device is in fastboot mode? there should be a fastboot inscription displayed on the screen
if yes, then try a different USB cable or PC

your device most likely has fastboot mode disabled by the oem
