SP-flashtool stuck

hello
i have a problem in using this SP-flashtool application ,the problem is , SP-flashtool after clicking "download" and "connecting to my device" , stuck , i have waited like hours but i didnt change at all
i have installed the drivers also , i saw in control panel device that "vcom preloader" is installed ,but it stuck there and just create a huge dump file in C:\ProgramData\SP_FT_Logs

answer @phonesurgeon's question and also tell us how the problem began
while at it, try this
uninstall all vcom and mtk using the guide at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-7660.html
install vcom preloader driver using the guide at https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
then retry
