So you just got or borrowed a branded modem and want to be able to use any SIM on it and not have to buy another right?  In this guide, I'll explain two methods of unlocking almost any modem.
1. Unlock code generation method
2. Brute force method
# Method 1, (unlock code generation)
There are generally two types of unlockable modems in the market ; New and Old algorithm modems.
First, insert a SIM that is not the same as the modem's brand (eg MTN SIM in GLO modem ), connect the modem to the PC then launch the modem's interface.
For the old algorithm modems, simply download Universal Master Code Calculator @ http://huaweifirmwares.com/?wpdmdl=21
> install it
> select your modem manufacturer
> insert your imei
> click calculate
> launch the modem's interface
> In the space where it's asking for unlock code, insert the NCK code you just generated.

For the new algorithm HUAWEI  modems ( stubborn modems like Airtel e1732 and co)
> generate your unlock code @ http://www.modemunlock.com/huawei.php
> launch the modem's interface
> In the space where it's asking for unlock code, insert the unlock code you just generated.

# Method 2 (brute force method)
1. Download DC unlocker @ https://www.dc-unlocker.com/downloads
2. Install and run it after connecting the modem with an incompatible SIM
3. Select your modem manufacturer from the dropdown then click the scan (magnifying lens ) icon
4. Your modem details will be displayed
5. click unlock @ the upper right corner
6. DC unlocked requires you to purchase points.
