Hello Hovatek team,
I am looking for a working custom recovery (TWRP or OrangeFox) for my device:
Device Name: Vsmart Star 4
Codename: willowpro
Chipset: MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765)
Android Version: Android 11 (Stock ROM)
Currently, there is a lack of official recovery support for this specific model, and building it from the full OmniROM source hits size limits and environment issues on cloud builders.
Could you please help build a custom recovery for this device, or guide me on how to port it safely using the stock boot/recovery images?

I am writing to express my gratitude for your assistance with building a custom recovery for my Vsmart Star 4 (codename: willowpro). I followed the instructions to use the online recovery builder, and I appreciate you providing this service.
Unfortunately, after flashing the recovery image, my device is now experiencing a bootloop. While I cannot access the custom recovery itself, I am still able to boot into the operating system.
I have attached the boot.img and recovery.img files that were generated or that I have access to. I would be very grateful if you could examine these files and help identify the cause of the bootloop. Any guidance or a rebuilt recovery image that resolves this issue would be immensely appreciated.

The custom recovery should be a recovery.img .
1. Did you disable verified boot before flashing the custom recovery?
2. Have you done a full backup of the device's firmware (except userdata)?

I have a full data backup (full dump) of the device, so it is very safe; furthermore, since I am using a custom ROM, I have disabled all boot-time security measures (including those located in the boot partition). And I flashed the recovery part via fastboot (bootloader).Thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Stick to TWRP because Orange Fox is currently for Android 12+
Can you describe what happens when you try to boot into TWRP after flashing? Does it loop before reboot, or does it sit for a while, then reboot?

Understood, I am sticking to TWRP (not OrangeFox).
Regarding the behavior when trying to boot into TWRP after flashing: it sits/freezes on the splash/logo screen for about 1min, then it reboots straight into the operating system (Custom ROM).

It's probably an issue with graphics_drm.cpp. We'll need to make a custom build to confirm this.
Try unpacking and repacking the stock recovery.img using Android Image Kitchen (don't make any changes), then flash the repacked recovery.img like you did TWRP and confirm whether it enters stock recovery mode.
