Hi

I have MTK MT8168 tablet with Android 10, want to root it. I did the following:

- Back up the firmware using WWR.
- Unlock the bootloader.
- Used Magisk to patch the boot.img then flash it, but the tablet did not boot, to fix it I retrieved the stock boot.img.
- Flashed the empty vbmeta.img but also no booting and it fixed with stock vbmeta.img.

How to fix this or any other way to root it?

you should flash empty vbmeta before patched boot not the other way around
after flashing empty vbmeta, ensure that the device can boot to homescreen before proceeding to flash patched boot

The tablet is booted to the home screen.

When I flash the empty vbmeta it stuck on the first logo screen before the boot animation, no restarting or boot loop

make a custom vbmeta with custom key(s) for the partition you wish to modify ; see https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32664.html
