How to easily Root HTC Desire S

1. Get the root toolkit from here. You need this for the program.
2. If you do not have a decompression for rar files, download and install winrar to your computer from here.
3. Unrar the toolkit to a convienient area on your computer. This is the same as unziping a folder, however it’s used with winrar.
4. Open the newly created folder and run the executable file in it. This will open the one click root toolkit.
5.Follow all the instructions, starting from the top left moving towards the bottom. When you come to one of them saying to unlock the bootloader, stop, as this will not only void your warranty, but also wipe your device. Be sure you want to do this. The bootloader will allow you to install custom recoveries and roms to your device. It’s very handy and a lot of custom roms are more stable, or have more features than that of the stock rom. Be sure you’ve backed up your data either way, never know when something could happen.
Your HTC Desire S should now be rooted.
