I have a memory card of 64gb .i wanted to use it on my android device supporting till 32gb . so i partitioned it to 20gb but it doesn't detect it.
I tried many times with 5 gb,10gb,15gb but didn't succeeded.
I tried fat32,exfat both .
Can anyone help.

Of course it won't. The total (after partitioning) will still be 64GB won't it?

Of course it won't. The total (after partitioning) will still be 64GB won't it?
But the phone is provided only less than 32gb .rest is unpartitioned.
So it should support it.
Also is expandable memory is hardware dependent or we can increase it by editing rom?

When you partition, you're merely segmenting. The remaining 32GB wont just vanish. Instead of one 64 GB partition, you'll have 2 32GB partitions. It still sums up to 64 GB.

its a combination of both, but there's always a hardware limitation
