Bought a used 11t with the listing saying update caused SIM issue. Bought it for cheap thinking I could resolve it and just downgrade. However, after trying different ROMs: (1) Engineering ROM, (2) Oldest MIUI, (3) Latest MIUI, (4) Latest HyperOS, baseband is still unknown with the IMEI null.

Tried the following:
  • Modem Meta can't rewrite due to being unable connect to MD (might be due to invalid baseband).
  • Flashed online NVRAM and NVDATA, still no IMEI nor baseband. I have three different NVRAM and NVDATA files, but none work due to unknown baseband.
  • Tried flashing stock and engineering ROM via MIFlash and SPFlashTool, still the same results.
  • MTKClient

What I haven't tried:
  • Paid tools, with the patch certificate function.
  • Asking the seller if it really was an update that caused the issue.

11t with baseband unknown is a pretty common issue. SN number is also null. I still have the original box with the SN and IMEI numbers if that helps. Feedback would really be helpful in whether this is a software or a hardware issue. I have backup files from when I first originally bought it but none before that.

There is one solution here that needs paid tools but I want clarification still on the steps:

Yes, you'll need a paid tool
