you will have to test to confirm but sure, you need to disable dm_verity (in your case flash empty vbmeta). if the phone boots to homescreen without any problem then you can go ahead with flashing patched boot to get root

I have used the method three to disable dm-verity. How will know it's disabled? I don't want to brick my phone again!

you will have to flash a custom image such as magisk patched boot or twrp then confirm if the phone can still boot to homescreen or not
