This guide below explains how to fix / bypass google drive's quota exceeded error, the error occurs when too many users have downloaded the file so google temporarily disables the link as seen in the screenshot below

Code:

Sorry, you can't view or download this file at this time. Too many users have viewed or downloaded this file recently. Please try accessing the file again later. If the file you are trying to access is particularity large or is shared with many people, it may take up to 24 hours to be able to view or download the file. If you still can't access a file after 24 hours, contact your domain administrator.

Important Update

The bypass method explained here no longer works as google finally replaced the "add to my drive" feature with "add shortcut to drive". You can read up on this new feature @ https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/201...-beta.html
If you have a google drive link with the above mentioned error, you'll need to keep checking the link every few hours until it'll be up for download again. When it is up for download, use a download manager with resume support (e.g IDM) so if you have slow connection and you're unable to complete the download before the link goes down again, you can easily resume download whenever the link comes back up

Steps on how to fix / bypass google drive's quota exceeded error

follow the steps below to fix / bypass google drive's quota exceeded error

See the video below or @ https://youtu.be/UqaTtkokCgw

  1. First open https://drive.google.com and sign in using your gmail account
  2. Now i'm going to be using the link in the code below as an example. You'll need to extract the file ID from the google drive link. The file ID is what you have between the = and & in the link.
    Code:

    Example link >>>  https://drive.google.com/uc?id=1f306pmnFGn359jl79o5iRGXlmTyyUdmX&export=download

  3. The file ID in the above link would be 1f306pmnFGn359jl79o5iRGXlmTyyUdmX  . Recall that the ID is what you have between = and &
  4. Now replace your_file_ID_here in the link below with your file ID
    Code:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/your_file_ID_here/view?usp=drive_open

  5. For example if your file ID is 1f306pmnFGn359jl79o5iRGXlmTyyUdmX then the new link would be
    Code:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f306pmnFGn359jl79o5iRGXlmTyyUdmX/view?usp=drive_open

  6. Open the new link with your browser where you're currently signed in on google drive, it should open the preview link

  7. Click the "Add to my drive" button at the top right hand corner >> it will notify you once it's done with a message "Added to my drive"

    [Image: How-to-fix-google-drive-quota-exceeded-error-2.jpg]

  8. Open https://drive.google.com , you'll find the file has been added to your account, now right click the file and select "make a copy" >> it'll notify you once it's done with a message "created copy of ..."

    [Image: How-to-fix-google-drive-quota-exceeded-error-3.jpg]

  9. Right click on the new file named "copy of ..." on your drive then select "Download" >> if the file size is too large for virus scan then you'll get a prompt, simply click "Download anyway"

    [Image: How-to-fix-google-drive-quota-exceeded-error-4.jpg]

  10. Your download should begin

Important Notice
  • Ensure you have enough free space on your google drive before making a copy of the file to your drive or it'll fail
  • You can always return back to your google drive account to delete the copied file and make space once you're done downloading

Quote:Hey guys, so in this video tutorial, I'm going to be showing how to fix google drive's quota exceeded error message.
So we have a tutorial on this at the forum, you can visit the link.
Now I'm going to be using link for this firmware, i've already clicked on it.
So this is my link here, and this is the error message so I can't download this file at this time.
Now first thing we need to do is, we need to visit google drive and sign-in, I'm already signed in actually, you can see right here I'm signed in
Next, we'll copy the link -- the download link of the file. Okay, so i'll just paste it in this notepad.
Now what we're actually looking for is the file ID. The file ID starts from just before the equal-to sign and ends just before
Sorry, just after the equal-to (=) sign and just before the and (&) sign which is here.
So we can see it here that this is what I need well, now this is my file ID. I'll simply copy it, highlight & Copy.
Now we're going to be replacing it here, your file ID here. So i'll highlight this and paste what I copied
So this is the new link we're going to use
I'll copy, now the google drive where i'm signed into, you can open a new tab if you like or still visit the same tab
So this is the preview link of the file you're actually trying to download
The page is still loading actually. Okay, so once it's done loading, you'll see the add to my drive icon
Click on it, You get added to my drive on it's successful, now we'll simply return back to
The tab we were signed into and this is the file
If the file doesn't show up, just simply refresh the page but since the file has shown up
All I just need to do is right click on the file, make a copy
You'll get creating a copy and created a copy once it successful
Now i'll right click on copy of, not the original file
now, download then ignore the warning and click download anyway and here we are, i can now start download
And so that's how you fix or bypass google drive's quota exceeded error message

Pls I want to get something here, when adding to my drive will it still take the same megabytes for downloading? E.g: if the file size is 520mb will 520mb be needed to add to my drive?

when adding to your drive, its not the same as downloading so your data subscription doesn't get deducted from
and yes, you'll need the same free size on your google drive in order to add the file
