Looks  like you'll have to do a factory reset first.
You could backup your important stuff first

Guys this is what i did after saving the important info as advised.
1. Factory Reset from the phone.
2. Flashed Twrp
3. Booted to Twrp but still showed the password request to login to recovery
4. Cancelled request and factory reset from twrp
5. Reboot recovery again, this time it was successful without password request
6. Reboot to system but hangs on the splash screen (Infinix, powered by android screen) not boot animation

I had to reflash the stock rom with flashtools but this time I flashed Android 6 booted, checked everything was fine.
Then I flased android 7 stock rom with flashtools, booted successfully, shut it down, flashed twrp again but still get stuck on the boot logo screen.

Kindly advise.
NB: There is a TWRP recovery for Android 6 that I have been using on it but since I updated to 7 no custom recovery so far. Awaiting for your response. Thanks in Advance, assistance is appreciated.

Good Morning Team,

Thanks for your response, I tried the above 'Philz' recovery, it installed when with First shot unlike twrp asking for password. I still had the same issues of not booting up, still stuck at 'Infinix powered by Android' boot screen. Reboot to recovery wiped factory reset still the same. Not a change, had to re-install the stock thru flash tools. I am thinking of reverting back to Android 6 with twrp but 7 is much better, Kindly advise.

Once you boot into custom recovery, flash supersu.zip before you reboot

(14-08-2017, 07:14 AM)RomeroJulyan Hi Team,

Thanks for the twrp recovery, from developer options turned on OEM unlocking, flashed twrp successfully and even booted to it but unfortunately it was asking for a decrypt password to mount data partition (pic attached). Did some research, tried my usual pin but no success.
Other sources (Not Infinix Phones) say that we need to format data partition, by doing so I shall lose all the info on the phone. Now I need your advise, if there would be another way to overcome this.

Thanks for your assistance.

it seems his phone is rooted. I am on the same phone and same OS, can i go and download the same file to root my phone and i think I should just backup my data and do a reset (cause I intend to clear the phone after long use).

you can easily root using magisk @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html , the method doesn't require custom recovery.
