This guide will explain how to back up and flash firmware/files to a UNISOC Android device using spd_dump. The model used for this tutorial was the Hisense A5 Pro CC.

Requirements

Listing the partition table

Code:

spd_dump exec_addr 0x3f48 fdl fdl1-dl.bin 0x5500 fdl uboot-mod.bin 0x9efffe00 exec partition_list partitions.xml reset

Backing up firmware

Code:

spd_dump exec_addr 0x3f48 fdl fdl1-dl.bin 0x5500 fdl uboot-mod.bin 0x9efffe00 exec path "PATH" r all reset

Note: Replace PATH with the full path to the folder you wish to save the backup to e.g. C:\Users\Hovatek\Desktop\backup

Flashing firmware

Code:

spd_dump exec_addr 0x3f48 fdl fdl1-dl.bin 0x5500 fdl uboot-mod.bin 0x9efffe00 exec write_parts "PATH" reset

Note: Replace PATH with the full path to the folder where the files to be flashed are located to e.g. C:\Users\Hovatek\Desktop\backup

Backing up a single partition (e.g boot partition which is 35MB)

Code:

spd_dump exec_addr 0x3f48 fdl fdl1-dl.bin 0x5500 fdl uboot-mod.bin 0x9efffe00 exec read_part boot 0 35M boot.img reset

Flashing a single partition (e.g boot.img to the boot partition)

Code:

spd_dump exec_addr 0x3f48 fdl fdl1-dl.bin 0x5500 fdl uboot-mod.bin 0x9efffe00 exec write_part boot boot.img reset

Important Notice
  • Backups are usually named according to the partition e.g. boot partition --> boot.bin
  • Enclose your PATH in double quotes, i.e. " ". This helps to escape spaces and characters in your path that might break the command
