I am trying to unlock the bootloader on my Infinix Smart 7 HD to get root access and install Magisk modules. However, I am stuck at the very first step.
When I try to enable "Factory Unlock" (OEM Unlocking) in Developer Options, I get the following behavior:
I toggle the switch "Factory Unlock - Allow bootloader unlocking by verifying account"
The phone prompts me to enter my Infinix/XOS account login and password
After entering my credentials, I get the error message:
"Connect to the Internet and try again"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using mobile data or WiFi?
