Title:
[HELP] Tecno Pop 5 BD2 (Unisoc SC7731E) - Bootloop after flashing custom recovery - FDL2 Download Failed (DL1185)

Hello everyone,

I have a Tecno Pop 5 BD2 with a Unisoc SC7731E.

I tried to flash a custom recovery, but after flashing it the phone entered a bootloop.

Current situation:
- Stuck in bootloop.
- Cannot access recovery mode.
- Cannot access fastboot mode.
- The device is only detected in Unisoc flashing mode.

I downloaded the official stock firmware and tried flashing it using ResearchDownload (R27.25.4601), but the flashing process always fails.

The process reaches FDL2, stays there for about 9-10 seconds, and then shows the following error:

Failed: [DL1185] Download Failed

Things I have already tried:

- Different USB cables.
- Different USB ports.
- Reinstalled Unisoc USB drivers.
- Different versions of ResearchDownload.
- UpgradeDownload Tool.
- SPD Dump/WLS.
- TFT Unlock Tool.
- Other Unisoc flashing tools.
- Different firmware packages (PAC files), when available.
- Running the tools as Administrator.
- Different Windows PCs (if applicable).

Unfortunately, every tool fails while sending FDL2.

Phone information:
- Model: Tecno Pop 5 BD2
- Chipset: Unisoc SC7731E
- Android 10

My questions are:

- What usually causes the DL1185 error?
- Could this be caused by Secure Boot?
- Could the FDL1/FDL2 files be incompatible?
- Is it possible that the eMMC is damaged?
- Is there any way to recover the phone if FDL2 always fails?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Which tool(s) exactly apart from those mentioned?
You shouldn't be getting this error.
FDL signals an incompatible loader; sometimes, a connection problem.
We can flash this remotely. Send us an email.
