SP Flash tool has an issue when using it in console mode with some DA's that it throws an error "Error: lib DA NOT match":

Code:

Qt: Untested Windows version 6.2 detected! Begin MediaTek SP Flash Tool v5.1920.00 Build Time: May 26 2019 17:26:06 Init config from config file Download Command::Create DownloadCommand::Execute Error: lib DA NOT match!

While the GUI has an option to disable this check there is no way to do that for console mode.

After searching the internet and finding no fixes for this issue I took the liberty to patch SP Flash Tool to always return true on DA matching.

The Patch: Technical Details

The solution involves making two small binary modifications to the SP Flash Tool executable (v5.1920.00). These patches work together to bypass the DA verification logic.

Patch 1: Forcing a Valid Comparison

Offset: 0x00059D8D

Original Bytes: 80 7D EF 00

Patched Bytes: 80 7D EF 0A

Patch 2: Bypassing the Final Check

Offset: 0x0006603F

Original Byte: 74

Patched Byte: EB

How to Apply the Patch:

Backup! Always make a copy of your original flash_tool.exe file.

Open flash_tool.exe in a hex editor (like HxD).

Navigate to offset 0x59D8D. You should see the bytes 80 7D EF 00. Change them to 80 7D EF 0A.

Navigate to offset 0x6603F. You should see the byte 74. Change it to EB.

Save the file.

NOTE: This does not accomplish the same for GUI mode. Why? I don't care enough to figure it out as you can just disable the setting for GUI mode.

Disclaimer: This patch is provided for educational and troubleshooting purposes. Use it at your own risk. It disables a safety check designed to prevent flashing with incompatible software, which could potentially lead to a bricked device if used with genuinely corrupt or incorrect files. Always ensure you are using the correct DA and firmware for your device.
