Please I have an iPad 12.9 (2015) and 1st generation iPad that uses a lightning port and I need to know the best external storage devices to transfer my photos to for backup.

What you're looking for is Lightning to USB 3.0 adapter / OTG Adapter For iPad . Just run a search with either term.
As for the hard disk or flash drive, Kingston, Seagate or SanDisk
