This guide will explain how to fix "avbtool.py: Given image does not look like a vbmeta image" when trying to view the contents of a vbmeta image.
The genesis of the problem is that avbtool expects the vbmeta (when viewed in a hex editor) to begin with
41 56 42 30
If there's anything before this (e.g DHTB sign) then you'll get an error.
How to fix Given image does not look like a vbmeta image
Select all items before
41 56 42 30
Delete the selected items and save
Re-run the avbtool command
Important Notice
Your padding script (when creating a custom vbmeta) should account for whatever you had to remove I order to allow avbtool read the vbmeta image
