Im on macOS , I couldn't sudo usermod -aG plugdev root, the system replied with sudo: usermod: command not found , when I typed in ./fastboot devices , I got an error message of -sh: ./fastboot: Permission denied . Please advice. Thanks !

Ensure you're using an admin account. Check under System Prefs > Accounts
