For those who have active BIS or data plans on their Blackberry phones but are still unable to connect to the internet then follow Blackberry not browsing, other apps not working solved . If none of the steps at the guide works then check to be sure the phone has service books entries. If it doesn't then you can get service books using either of the following methods:

Request method

Depending on the phone:
* Go to Home screen > Options > Advance options > Host routing table > Menu button > Register Now
* Go to Home screen > Setup folder > Email Settings > If prompted, type the username and password > Click Log In > On the main screen, click Help > Click Send Service Books > Click OK in the confirmation window.

Blackberry Desktop Manager method

* Download and install Blackberry Desktop Manager
* Backup a Blackberry of the same model which has service books using Blackberry Desktop Manager
* On the Blackberry without Service Books, go to Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Service Book
* Press ALT + SBEB to Enable Legacy SB Restore
* Connect the Blackberry without service books to PC and do a selective restore of Service Books (See How to backup and restore Blackberry contacts )
* On the Blackberry without Service Books, go to Home screen > Options > Advance options > Host routing table > Menu button > Register Now
* Go to Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Service Book
* Press ALT + SBDB to Disable Legacy SB Restore
