I am trying to install Magisk through the boot.img patch method in one of the topics in here. I download the APK and patched my current boot.img (tried canary, beta and stable channel and different Magisk versions).
I then flash the patched boot.img through fastboot (also tried sp) and I get a corrupt android message when I restart, giving me the option to "try again or format data etc". At that point I can't do anything so, I just reflash the stock boot.img to boot back into system.
I've even tried flashing a blank vbmeta just before flashing boot.img (I understand you don't need to do this with the new Magisk anymore but thought I'd try it anyway, still didn't work)
Has anyone had a workaround for this yet or any ideas?
Bootloader and everything is unlocked etc
