Hello Hovatek
I have an Infinix Zero 5 X603 phone that just went off. The battery died and I can't charge it. I think the battery died when I dozed off and left the phone on the internet which likely drained the battery. When I connect to the wall charger or to the PC through the USB, it only shows a red LED light. I tried to flash it but I can't obtain a stable connection to the PC because the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting randomly. Can this phone be repaired? Kindly help

For how long have you left it to charge?

Not so long. 6 hours max. But my main problem is the way the phone disconnect when connected to the PC. If it was not, I'd have flashed it.

disassemble the back cover of the phone then disconnect / reconnect the battery clip then retry flashing

Tried this several times but still getting the random usb disconnection. Is it possible for me to remove the battery and charge it using a universal charger? Am thinking maybe I charge the battery on its own and then put it back

The way your phone is behaving points to a hardware related issue.
I think you should get a new battery and check if it charges, i.e before paying for the battery. But before you go for the new battery, are you sure the flashing process did not start at all?
You can also try to flash again with the battery disconnected, it will work, it just takes longer to detect the phone.

Thanks for the responses am getting. I have not flashed anything as I was afraid I may damage the phone if it disconnects while flashing. I thought I could fix the disconnection first before I flash. Some forums I have been to suggested that the emmc could be damaged. But like you suggested, if its hardware, then unfortunately I can not fix it.

be sure that the clip you disconnected is meant for the battery, there's usually more than one clip, if unsure carefully disconnect / reconnect all
if the disconnection persists, then consider trying a different usb cable or port

Thank you once again for the help so far. There's something I want to find out. I had taken the phone to a repairer and he told me that the motherboard of the phone is dead. But I wondered how a dead phone can connect to the PC. Could it be true that the phone's motherboard is dead? Am afraid I may end up selling it out cheap when it can be fixed.

It might or might not be. Explore the battery theory first
