I have a flash drive of 2gb, but for some reason the flash recently developed a problem and is unable to format. The worst is that it's showing that the size of the flash is 8.0mb

sorry, I assumed you had a mobile device that had USB capabilities
have you tried formatting it under Disk Management (ranging from XP to Windows 8)?
* Ensure to do a full format, not quick

The main issue is the fact that it has turned from displaying 1.95gb capacity into showing 8.0mb. I have also tried full formatting via disk management and I'm still getting "the format did not complete successfully"
