Managed to decrypt the phone..twrp can now mount storage successfully
Have tried to flash custom rom(havoc and lineage)gsi but the twrp returns an error that cannot flash images to system files..have attached a screenshot shot..
Any help will be appreciated

use fastboot to flash your image, you don't need twrp for this
e.g
fastboot flash system system.img

thank you...hav successfuly flashed Evolution x gsi from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/express...z/download working flawlessly so far and thanks also to PEE KAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEXiI2GCvJ0&t=33s for the video tutorial
