disable dm_verity by flashing empty vbmeta in method 3 @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html
then patch boot using the guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21427.html
if that doesn't give root, then patch boot using magisk canary @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGLWoJ-POlA
