In our previous guide @ https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-20135.html , we mentioned a few methods through which one could exit fastboot mode i.e if your device happens to get stuck in fastboot. In this guide, we'll explain how to power off a Unisoc / Spreadtrum device while the phone is in fastboot mode. This is ideal for those whose device has an inbuilt battery

Steps on how to power off a Unisoc / Spreadtrum android device from fastboot mode


follow the steps below to power off a Unisoc / Spreadtrum device from fastboot mode

  1. Connect the phone to the PC while the phone is in fastboot mode
  2. Launch Research Download tool

  3. Click Load Packet

  4. Select the pac file and click Open

  5. Wait till the pac file is loaded into the tool

  6. The pac file details should be displayed once loading is complete

  7. Click Settings

  8. Untick all checkboxes under FileID except FDL1&2 (you can easily do this by ticking the checkbox beside select all, it'll automatically deselect everything rather than manually unticking one by one)

  9. Click the "Options" tab

  10. Tick the checkbox beside "repartition" and "Power off"

  11. Click Flash Operations

  12. Tick the checkbox beside "Active Read Flash"

  13. Tick the checkbox beside recovery (for the sake of this guide, we only need to backup one partition so we're choosing recovery mainly cause it has a small partition size so backup should be quick. You can choose any other smaller partition such as persist)

  14. Click OK at the bottom right

  15. Click Start Downloading

  16. While performing the next step below, ensure to keep your eyes on research download tool

  17. Hold vol down and power button until the phone goes off >> research download tool should immediately detect the phone, now quickly release the power button but keep hold of vol down button until the backup process begins then you can release vol down button

  18. Once backup is complete and you see the message "Passed" in green color, research download will automatically power off the phone

  19. You can now disconnect the phone from the PC


Important Notice
  • Be careful when using a pac / FDL files which aren't for your model because an error in research download tool could cause the device to get stuck in Flash Mode (appear totally dead)
  • Be careful not to interrupt research download once backup has started, it'll cause the device to get stuck in Flash Mode (appear totally dead)
