[Tutorial] How to remove Huawei E5172s-920 battery (Swift 4G LTE CPE)

This tutorial will explain how to take out the battery of Huawei E5172s-920 . In this example, we use a SWIFT 4G LTE CPU router. The battery is not inbuilt but you'll need a flat piece of metal (from Engineering precision tools).

Steps to remove Huawei E5172s-920 battery (Swift 4G LTE CPE)


Follow the steps below to remove Huawei E5172s-920 battery

  1. Get the SWIFT 4G LTE hub and a flat tipped prying tool

  2. Flip the hub on its back and place your thumb on the back cover

  3. Slide the back cover to the right

  4. You should now see the battery

  5. Lift the battery from the bottom

  6. Take out the battery (don't pull on the cord too hard)

  7. Drop the battery beside the hub

  8. Take note of the port where the battery fits into the hub

  9. Take note of the 3 clips on the hub which hold the battery firmly in place (indicated with three red arrows)

  10. Place the prying tool just above the middle fastener

  11. Press the battery clip to the side (against the body of the hub) to free it from the fasteners and push it upwards at the same time

  12. Keep applying the sideways+upwards push and you should see the battery clip coming out gradually

  13. The battery clip should now be free

  14. Here's what the battery clip looks like

  15. You're done
