there's no available d5 to make another nvram backup.
1. does the phone have an FM radio and does it work?
2. is the phone running on a stock or custom recovery?

is the phone able to boot into recovery mode?
i have three suspects
1. damaged radio / antenna
2. incompatible recovery.img
3. switched off radio
Would really help if you could get a cwm backup of a working d5 and flash it to the phone
