I want to root my device but it has -signed/-verified images so flashing patched_boot via SP Flash Tool didn't work

So I tried using SP Multiport Download Tool to flash both patched_boot and ported TWRP (replacing boot.img and recovery. img) combined with the rest of my stock ROM files, and the process got stopoed at recovery saying "recovery DL failed".

It crashed my device but I have managed to restore it with SP flash tool using my ROM backup (though some files refused to be flashed bac but it's working normally ATM)

Now I have been thinking, can't I modify my system.img?

I can unpack and repack it, I think all I have to do is put Magisk or SuperSU in the system folder where apps apps and flash it back to my device. I know this method is a long shot but at least I should be able to make something work using system.img

Pls help, I need root access so bad

I want to appreciate the efforts hovatek and it's rep for helping me this far. Thank you

Specs below

SuperD D1
OS 6.0
MT6750T
Octacore 1.5 Ghz (64-bit)

This is unlikely to work for the same reason flashing TWRP or patched boot didn't...its been modified.
Besides, /system rooting is like going back in time; you'll trip so many wires. Systemless rooting is the way

I haven't even tried that since I didn't need it yet,  funny thing is my device has root access (green) in MTK Droid Tools without even using adbd insecure (which also cannot work without root access anyway)

But right now I am just modifying my system fonts following your guide on my other thread where you recommended I use assayed kitchen.

Let me head there and comment on it sef

Should I unlock the bootloader?  Huh

My device is not showing in fastboot mode, pls help. oem is unlocked in Developer options as well as USB Debugging

When I type adb devices, it displays my device but when in fastboot mode it doesn't show my deviceve after typing "fastboot devices" without quote "..."

I have used this tool to flash 2.devices in fastboot mode before: MT6592 & MT6580
