Hash key not working and wrong key for "@"

my windows 8 hash key not working and i have to press wrong key to write "@". How do i fix this please help.

Change your keyboard Layout by Following the Below Steps:

Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the
lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
Tap or click Time and language, and then tap or click Region and language.
Tap or click the language you want to add a keyboard to, and then tap or click Options.
Tap or click Add a keyboard, browse the input method list for the one you want to use, and then tap or click it.

Try system restore to the point where your problem began

Thank you tried what i was told above and it worked for one day then the following day the keys where acting up again.

Thank you guys, i figured out that after language preference the one that correct my keys should be on top of that which was there before as it can not be completely removed.
