You can provide the link to the stock recovery.img backed up using flashify while you're backing up your firmware.
We're asking you to backup so you have something to fix your phone incase something goes wrong
(28-10-2017, 12:42 PM)Evannstenny Ok. Here is the link

The above points to my backed up stock recovery using flashify app
I hope to get a custom recovery with twrp to enable me flash GApps to the stock ROM
Meanwhile, I have downloaded files to enable me back up my firmware in scatter format.
Saw the guide on Hovatek's site. Thanks a lot

Flash using flashify
(30-10-2017, 05:48 AM)Evannstenny Thanks a lot for the effort.
I have been able to download and flash using flashify, it didn't boot into the twrp recovery. Instaed, it boots into android. I have a ROM installer
on my phone, I tried flashing it with it but it still could not boot into recovery despite showing that it successfully flashed it.
I don't know what am doing wrong. At the moment, it can't boot into its original recovery, though I have back ups, I want to know what next to do?
Thanks!
Update: I have been able to restore the original recovery from the backed up recovery I made, it now can boot into its native recovery.
Am flashing now with ROM installer app
After which am rebooting... my fingers are crossed. Will update later

(26-10-2017, 01:28 PM)Evannstenny Hi everyone,
Am so glad and happy to know that Hovatek is home grown (ie from my own country). It gives my hope we will get there (Tech Greatness).
I have a Gionee Gn5001S with chipset MT6735 running on Android 5.1 Lollipop
I have rooted it with Kingroot but unable to to install TWRP on it.
I am hoping to use twrp to flash GApps on the stock ROM since that is just what I need for now.
Tahnaks for the help
(01-11-2017, 10:40 PM)Evannstenny So sorry I took long to respond. The last recovery got me into a bootloop. So I left it off for some hours and then i powered it again, the bootloop stopped.
Before the bootloop, it could only boot into its native custom recovery after I flashed it.
Am thinking, do i need to wipe data, dalvik and cache before flashing? Am not sure what will happen, so kindly advice me.
And I don't know why this phone is stubborn to get a custom recovery.
Again am thinking, I rooted with kingroot, how do I know if the bootloader is unlocked? I read somewhere about it, so I don't know if the bootloader is locked or not.
Thanks for all your efforts in helping me out on this.
adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot getvar unlocked

To check Bootloader status
setup adb fastboot using https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-588.html
Launch adb while the phone is on and connected then run the following commands
Code:adb devices
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot getvar unlocked
