Ok buh right i cant tell d actual version or ios of d phone because i cant go to setting to check and for now the phone seems useless,please kindly state all the require applications to unlock the phone,i went through the thread on how to unlock iphone in d forum but didnt understand any of it...please help

you should be able to use the iPhone without a SIM. find a way to get beyond that network selection either by cancelling orselecting just any network.
you OS version is located at Settings > General > About > Version

create a Wi-Fi hotspot and proceed with the setup. waiting....
